The Secrets to a Flawless Spray Tan

I love being tan. I feel like I can wear less makeup. My blemishes or body imperfections are less noticeable. My teeth look whiter. My eyes look brighter. I just love being tan. I used to be a tanning bed junkie. I know the dangers of tanning beds, that is why I became a spray tan artist and opened Kissed by the Caribbean Mobile Spray Tanning. Kissed by the Caribbean is a mobile spray tan company. I am a professionally trained spray tan artist. I have a passion for entrepreneurship and started Kissed by the Caribbean Mobile Spray Tanning in 2018. I offer spray tanning in the comfort of your home. Mobile spray tanning is the best way to tan and the safest way to tan. Here are the best tips for getting a flawless spray tan.

Hydrate:

The most crucial step (next to exfoliating) for a flawless, long-lasting tan. This step is done days leading up to

your session as well as afterwards. Tans develop on the top layer of skin, so it is important to keep your skin as

hydrated as possible! This means drinking plenty of water and keeping your skin hydrated on the surface with a

good moisturizing lotion.

a sponge , brush , towel , and bowl of salt are on a table .

Thoroughly Exfoliate:

On the night prior to your session, thoroughly exfoliate your skin. A loofah just does not cut it. Buffing gloves,

cloths and scrubs work best. This will prepare your skin by cleaning and ‘buffing’ it, leaving it cleaner than a

typical soap or body wash. It is best to use a non-oil based exfoliant.

Primp, Pamper and Sweat Before:

All hair removal (laser, waxing, shaving) must be done before your tan, as well as pedicures and manicures.

Workouts should also be done before as you cannot sweat or get wet for up to 8 hours after your session.

Come With Clean, Bare Skin: Your skin should be free from any products like lotion, makeup, and deodorant.

After Your Session

Dress Accordingly: Be sure to have loose dark clothing that will not rub or smudge a tan. The baggier, the better here! No bras, jeans, leggings, socks, zippers, or sweatpants with tight waistbands. If it is late and you will be sleeping in your tan, wear long sleeves and long pants to bed.

Workouts should also be done before as you cannot sweat or get wet for up to 8 hours after your session.

No Sweating or Exposure to Water:

You will need to avoid water and sweating until your tan sets, and you rinse. This means no washing your hands or doing the dishes!

Wait . . . Wait . . . Wait:

It is imperative that you wait 24 hours from being sprayed to then shower with soap. If you apply products to your skin before 24 hours your tan will not develop to its optimal color. Even after rinsing off the color guide or the bronzer your tan will still develop. When you can shower with soap you will need to begin applying lotion generously, which will significantly prolong the life of your tan! Basic, natural lotions and body washes without parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, or alcohol is best. Oils should be avoided. I recommend Hempz original moisturizing lotion.

Additional Tips for Extending the Life of Your Tan:

Tans are water soluble and will degrade with extended exposure to sweat and water (especially hot water). Baths, long showers, intense workouts, salt water and chlorine will take a toll on your tan; however, live your life and enjoy your glow! Follow these crucial steps next time you get your spray tan, and you will see better results.

Happy tanning!

Tanning for men
By Kissed By The Caribbean 01 Oct, 2022
The tanning trend has become just as popular among men as it is among women. What has fueled this craze further is the images of bronzed, tanned men in billboards, movies, and TV shows.

Sellers of spray tanning equipment make the marketing claim that a spray tan can be done in two minutes with an HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray tan system, the dominant choice in spray tan equipment today. That’s a bit rushed. A quality result is more important than to apply the spray tan as quickly as possible. The actual application can be done in 5 minutes. Some technicians will do two spray passes versus one, which will take a little longer. An allowance for drying time, 5 to 10 minutes, needs to be added as well. Drying time can be shortened by using direct air from the air hose or with a hair dryer.

Spray tanning is an effective way to maintain a healthy glow year-round. However, due to the common misconceptions many people have about spray tanning it gets a bad rap. Frequently I get comments from clients that share common concerns such as, “spray tanning will make me look fake,” “the tan won’t last,” “the tanning solution will irritate my skin,” or “I don’t want to look orange.” All these concerns are false, as they are just myths. It would be a mistake to let these common misconceptions prevent you from seeking out spray tanning as an effective treatment for a natural-looking glow. Follow along as I expose the five most common myths about spray tanning.

In virtually every TV advertisement, you’ll probably hear the words ”organic” and “natural” used to sell a wide variety of different products. These adjectives are often applied to products to make them appear healthier – including foods and soft drinks. The unfortunate result is that many people now confuse the terms “organic” and “natural” for each other. In reality, natural products aren’t necessarily organic, and even products advertised as organic could contain a significant amount of unnatural ingredients. In the United States for example, products that don’t carry a USDA Organic Seal only need to contain 70% organic ingredients in order to advertise themselves as an organic product. The remaining 30% of ingredients don’t even need to be natural – so they may consist of nearly a third synthetic materials. And thanks to confusing regulations in other territories, many products advertised as “organic” could be stretching the truth when it comes to some of their “organic” ingredients.
